Grassroots Racing, Legendary History
The legendary Great Lakes Dragaway, just outside Union Grove, Wisconsin, has been the place for car enthusiasts for seven decades. The oldest continuously operating dragstrip in the United States is open more dates than any other strip in the country.
Built by members of local car clubs when grassroots drag racing was all the craze, the track has seen most of the sport's giants run here in their early years, and many still visit today. Every season brings fun racing and pro racing in every category, from the Memorial Weekend Classics to the favorite Time Machine Nationals on Labor Day weekend.
